Empowering Places of Worship with Information to Successfully Build, Expand or Otherwise Locate in Montgomery County
An opportunity for faith communities to meet the officials and learn the laws, codes and regulations affecting land use in Montgomery County
Who should attend? Anyone from the faith based community who desires to locate, develop, construct, expand or otherwise locate a place of worship in Montgomery County.
Montgomery County Departments will provide a brief introduction to the land use, environmental, health and life safety codes in Montgomery County with a description of departments’ roles and responsibilities – a “who does what” overview.
Community participants will then be invited to participate in round table discussions on the following regulatory and other topics: Environment, Water Resources, MNCPPC Development, Building Permits and Use and Occupancy Certificates, Road Access, Water and Sewer, Alternatives to ownership, Sustainability Programs and Energy Efficient Programs Open House will conclude with, a moderated panel discussion to help Open House participants develop a more complete understanding of how to successfully achieve a place of worship that is safe, healthy for members, the community and the environment that meets their needs.
